Destiny is an absolute powerhouse in the world of basketball. Destiny played at Mountain View High School where she led her school to two state titles, was named a 2016 McDonald’s All American, Gatorade Player of the Year in both her junior and senior seasons, and earned First Team All-State honors in all 4 of the seasons she played. Destiny also helped Team USA to a gold medal in the FIBA World Championships in 2015. Following her basketball career in Boise, she had a stellar freshman season at the University of Maryland. In her debut season, she was named WBCA National Freshman of the Year, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, All-Big Ten Second Team, and All-Big Ten Freshman Team. Following her year at Maryland, she decided to transfer to #8 Oregon State – though she had to redshirt her sophomore season due to NCAA transfer rules, she will be back out on the court this winter. It’s safe to say we’re excited to see what she accomplishes next.
Isaiah spent his high school career at Borah High School where he absolutely dominated for four straight years. Wright was the 2014 Gatorade Player of the Year, 5A All-Idaho Player of the Year, State Tournament MVP, and two-time State Champion. Isaiah began his college career at the University of Utah where he played two seasons, playing in 33 games, helping the Utes to the Sweet Sixteen. Following his time at Utah, he transferred to the University of San Diego. In his redshirt junior season, he was named to the All-WCC Second Team after totaling five games where he scored 20 or more points. Isaiah is beginning his redshirt senior season this winter – we couldn’t be more proud of all he’s done, and is continuing to do.
Buss was a local prep football standout from Mountain View High School. During his senior year, he rushed for a 5A SIC best 1,986 yards and 22 touchdowns. He earned First Team All-State running back honors in both his junior and senior seasons, and was also named the All-Idaho Player of the Year. Not only was he an elite football player, but Buss was also a four-year letter winner in lacrosse, and a one-year letter winner in wrestling. After getting multiple offers for multiple different sports, Buss decided to call Missoula his new home. The list of accolades he’s acquired while playing OLB at the University of Montana could go on for days, but here is a list of just some of those awards: 2x 2016 Steve Carlson Defensive MVP, HERO SPORTS FCS Sophomore Defensive All-America First Team, 2017 Buck Buchanan Award Finalist, College Sports Madness third-team All-American, 2017 Second-team All-Big Sky Conference, STATS FCS preseason first team All-American, first FCS player named to the Butkus Award preseason watch list, 2018 Preseason Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year, 2018 College Sports Madness Preseason first-team All-American. Josh is an excellent athlete who continues to represent both Off the Field and Mountain View High School in elite fashion.
Taurie Pogue is one of our most well rounded athletes. She spent her high school career as a key player in the Mountain View softball program. During her prep career, she was a four-year varsity starter, was named a MaxPrep All-American and NFCA All-American shortstop. Not only was Taurie impressive on the field, but she also had an impressive resume off the diamond: she was a part of the MVHS honor roll 2010-2013, was an Idaho Drug-Free Youth Council Member, and acted as the Advanced Leadership Council President. Today, Pogue is making a similar impact at Cal Berkeley. Whilst working towards a degree in legal studies at one of the country’s most prestigious universities, she was also named to the 2015 All-Freshman Honorable Mention list and started in 72/88 games in her 2016 and 2017 seasons. Not only is Taurie an amazing athlete, but she also has the classroom work ethic and leadership skills to match.
Matt Paradis truly is one of Idaho’s most impressive success stories. He spent his high school career playing 8-man football in Council, Idaho where he received All-State recognition on offense and defense in 2007, and was named the 2008 1A Idaho High School Player of the Year. After high school, Paradis walked on at Boise State University, but quickly established himself as an essential part of the offensive line. Paradis was a second team All-Mountain West Conference selection in his senior season, as well as being named Boise State’s Outstanding Offensive Lineman. Following his impressive college career, Paradis was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 6th round (207th overall). Since then, Matt has proved (yet again) that he is a vital part of any program he plays for. He was voted by his teammates as the recipient of the 2016 Ed Block Courage Award. No matter the place, program, or number of players on the field…Matt always finds a way to be elite.
Idaho has been consistently producing professional and Division I baseball talent as of late, and Alex Guerrero is a great example of just how elite local baseball talent can be. Alex was a three-time, first-team 5A SIC Conference catcher out of Eagle High School and was selected by the New York Yankees in the 18th round of the MLB Draft, going 547th overall. Alex decided to forgo a college career and sign his professional contract – he had signed a letter of intent to play at the University of Washington prior to the draft. Alex is a guy with unmatched work ethic and endless potential; no matter what route his career took him, professional or collegiate, we knew he would find success. We can’t wait to see what his future holds!
Kamalei Correa is a Boise State product we get the pleasure of working with during the off-season. Kamalei is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, and made his way to the Treasure Valley to join the Broncos for Coach Pete’s final season in Boise. In Correa’s college career, he earned first-team All-Mountain West honors in his sophomore season, was named Defensive MVP of the 2015 Poinsettia Bowl, and started every game of his sophomore and junior campaigns before declaring for the NFL Draft prior to his senior season. In the 2016 Draft, Correa was selected in the second round (42nd overall) by the Baltimore Ravens. He played in 25 games for the Ravens and was traded to the Tennessee Titans in August of 2018. Correa now plays with former high school teammate, Marcus Mariota, and has tallied 11 tackles and 2.5 sacks so far this 2018 season.
Tori is yet another stellar women’s basketball product out of Boise. Williams, who spent her high school career at Centennial, earned 2017 Gatorade Player of the Year honors and was nominated as a McDonald’s All-American. She also earned 5A state tournament MVP and multiple all-state selections. Most importantly, she led Centennial to a state title. Following her high school campaign, Williams spent her first year of collegiate eligibility at the University of Utah. At the U, she earned herself a spot on the 2018 Pac-12 All-Freshman team, was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week twice, and made major contributions in Utah’s journey to the second round of the NCAA tournament. After her impressive freshman year, Tori decided to make the move to Colorado State to finish out her eligibility as a Ram. Tori is a relentless player who we are proud to call an OTF athlete.
Autumn is an Eagle High grad with quite the impressive list of accolades to show for her time spent there: she was a two-time 5A pitcher of the year, three-time state champion, and MaxPreps All-American…all whilst accruing an astonishing 46-3 record with the Mustangs. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Autumn was also named to the All-Academic SIC Team and was a consistent honor roll student. It comes as no surprise that Moffat got an opportunity to play softball at the next level – she decided to take her talents to BYU Provo. We are looking forward to see her leave the Cougs’ softball program better than she found it, just as she’s done for us here at OFFTHEFIELD.
Huerta has been an absolute trailblazer for soccer in the Treasure Valley. As a three-sport athlete (track, soccer, basketball) at Centennial High School, her elite athletic abilities were very apparent from a young age. Where she shined the most, of course, was on the soccer field. She tallied a historic 126 goals/47 assists and led the Patriots to a district championship during her high school campaign. Additionally, she was a two-time Gatorade and Conference Player of the Year, as well as an All-American. After her impressive career in Boise, she took her talents to Santa Clara University – home to one of the most elite collegiate soccer programs in the country. At Santa Clara, she turned heads from the moment she arrived, earning First-Team All-WCC in every season she played. Huerta scored an impressive 47 goals throughout her collegiate career, received multiple All-West Region nods, and received Third Team All-American selections in her junior and senior seasons. Since her time at Santa Clara, Huerta has spent her days playing in the NWSL; her rookie debut was in 2016 where she scored a remarkable 7 goals, and she has scored at least 6 goals in every season since. Aside from playing professionally in the United States, Huerta has also competed in the Australian W-League for Sydney FC. On top of all her outstanding accomplishments in high school, college, and professionally, she has made multiple appearances for the USWNT (she previously represented Mexico). No matter what program, club, or country Sofia is playing in/for, she is an absolute inspiration for all the Idahoan soccer players who follow in her footsteps – we are so proud to call her an OTF athlete.
Nich Guzetti is one of the valley’s most elite men’s lacrosse products. He attended Mountain View High School where he was a four-time All Treasure Valley selection as well as named an ILA-US Lacrosse All-American. Guzzetti also led the Mavericks to state titles in both 2013 and 2014. To follow up his extraordinary prep career, he committed to represent the College of Idaho. In his freshman season, Guzzetti was named PNCLL Newcomer of the Year and a MCLA Division II All-American after setting a new school record with 44 goals. Nich continued to impress throughout his collegiate campaign, being named PNCLL Offensive Player of the Year in 2016 and PNCLL Most Valuable Player in 2017. Nich truly is in a class of his own – not only is he breaking long held school records, but he’s continuing to set new ones year in and year out. We are so proud to call Nich Guzzetti an OTF athlete!
Tucker Rovig was a local prep football standout from Mountain View High School, his accomplishments as the starting quarterback for the Mavericks speak for themselves: Rovig threw for 5,459 yards, 69 touchdowns, and had a 22-3 record as his team’s QB1. Not to mention – he led the Mavs to a 2016 5A State Championship and was a two-time First Team All-State honoree. Additionally, Tucker’s dedication extended beyond the field, as he was named to the Academic All-Conference team three times. After his time at Mountain View, Rovig decided to take his talents to Bozeman, Montana to represent the Montana State Bobcats. Rovig redshirted his first season and is in a battle for the starting job going into the 2018 preseason. Tucker is an excellent athlete and even better person; we are so grateful to have him as a part of our OTF family.
Rylan is one of the most impressive prep basketball standouts out of Boise, Idaho in the last decade. During his time at Borah High School, he partnered with Isaiah Wright to turn the program into a basketball power house. Bergeson was named Second-Team All-State in his junior season by USA Today, and First-Team All-State as a senior by both the Idaho Statesman and USA Today. In his senior season, he averaged 15.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game. After his great career as a Lion, he played one year of prep school at Link Year in Branson, Missouri before committing to Brigham Young University. In the 2017-2018 season at BYU, Bergeson saw action in 24 games and was given the Coaches Award for his remarkable efforts and contributions in his rookie season. Rylan is an amazing athlete with a work ethic and attitude to match. To say we love getting to train him would be an understatement. We can’t wait to see what he does in the rest of his basketball career!
Trey was a local standout prep athlete, not just in football, but lacrosse as well. At Mountain View High School he was a three-year letter winner in football, and a four-year letter winner in lacrosse. Although he excelled at both sports, the gridiron is where he flourished most. Bell was named First-Team All-State, All-Conference, SIC Player of the Year, and Gatorade Player of the Year. Additionally, he led the Mavericks to a second-place finish in the state tournament in 2014 and 2015. Bell was named the All-USA Idaho Offensive Player of the Year after averaging 8.9 yards per catch, tallying 30 touchdowns, and 205 carries for 1,831 yards, and 24 receptions for 430 yards. His impressive prep career landed him a scholarship at Idaho State University; he redshirted his freshman season and appeared in nine games in 2017. It has been such a pleasure to have Trey as OTF athlete over the years, and we are filled with excitement to see what he does with the rest of his career at ISU.
As far as local elite wrestling products go, Demetrius is one of the prime examples. He spent his four years of high school at Mountain View where he earned the 152-pound State Champion to cap off his senior season. His tallied an impressive prep record of 149-49, and was 47-3 in his final year – being named the District 3 Wrestler of the Year. In addition to being a four-year letter winner in wrestling, he was also a three-year letter winner in football. Romero was named a First-Team All-State and All-Conference selection his senior year. Furthermore, he was awarded Academic All-SIC every year for each of his sports. After the conclusion of his high school campaign, Romero took his talents to Boise State’s wrestling program. He redshirted his freshman season, and in his sophomore season he reached the podium in three of the five tournaments he competed in. After his time at Boise State, Romero decided to become a Wolverine at the University of Utah. In his sophomore season at UVU, Romero was 26-9 overall and a NCAA qualifier, as well as earning NWCA All-Academic honors. We are so proud to have Demetrius as an OTF athlete and we are looking forward to what successes are in his future.
Jeremy McNichols is one of the most highly regarded running backs to come through Boise State. McNichols was picked up by the Broncos as a three-star recruit out of Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. In his 2014 freshman campaign as a Bronco, he appeared in nine just games – but as his sophomore season came around, it became clear that he was one of the program’s biggest weapons. In 2015, McNichols started 12 games, earned All-Mountain West Second Team honors, and set the MW record for most consecutive games with a rushing touchdown. By the time he reached his junior season – he was prepared to make a serious statement…and that’s exactly what he did. In 2016, McNichols started all 13 games, was named to the All-Mountain West Second Team, finished with 1,709 rushing yards, 27 touchdowns, and was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week four times in one season. For his impressive efforts, Jeremy was named to the Maxwell Award Watch List and was a Doak Walker Award Semifinalist in 2016. After his amazing career as a Bronco, he was picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since then, McNichols has bounced around multiple different NFL programs and is currently rostered with the Denver Broncos. Jeremy is a tremendous athlete and an even better person. No matter what program he’s a part of, we know he’ll do big things.
Kafari is a Boise native and one of the valley’s most impressive prep soccer stars. Kafari was a three-year letter winner for the Centennial Patriots and even led them to a 2009 5A State Championship. Despite his great success in high school, his college campaign was even more impressive. Kafari joined the Lobos of New Mexico where he tallied 82 appearances (sixth most in school history) and played an integral role in the program’s four straight NCAA berths. Not only did Kafari lead them to the national tournament, but he was instrumental in getting the Lobos to the Sweet Sixteen in his final three years at UNM. Following his collegiate career, he was first drafted by the Vancouver Whitecaps (selected No. 51 overall), however, he didn’t end up signing with the club and instead joined the USL Pro side Charleston Battery. Following his time in the USL, he was eventually acquired by Sporting Kansas City in 2014, and has bounced around leagues since. As of April, 2018, Kafari has called Swedish club, Motala, home. Michael is such an extraordinary athlete and we can’t wait to see him continue to flourish wherever he’s playing as an OTF alum.
Ryan is another impressive lacrosse standout out of Mountain View High School. In his time as a Mav, he helped the team to 2 straight ISHLL State Championships. In addition to his state titles, Henning was named an All-State selection in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Furthermore, he was chosen as a U.S. Lacrosse High School All-American after his junior season. In his senior campaign, Henning 66 goals and 26 assists. This upcoming year will be Ryan’s first season as a College of Idaho Yote; and we can’t wait to watch him tear it up!
OFFTHEFIELD’s simple, yet uncompromising goal is to make every athlete better at what they do. Not only physically on the field, but mentally empower them to be stronger individuals on and off the field. We created an essential game plan to do this. First our relationships, second our program design, third our OTF coaches and OTF team.
Each athlete starts with an evaluation. This allows us to track the athlete’s progress over time. More importantly it helps us identify faulty movement patterns that may be decreasing performance or lead to future injury. The identification of such movement patterns helps us personalize each program.
State and district champions, multi-disciplinary sports, and more – OTF athletes are having a noticeable impact on the national stage.
Dive into the archives of our previous athletes and their accomplishments. The list is updated on an annual basis and some information may be incomplete.
